As a product designer for Goldstar I paired with a fellow UX designer to help optimize and improve our global search results functionality for our web and native app. Together, we collaborated to research, test and ship changes to the product using Baymard’s standards for UX. We tested our changes and improvements in with Maze and usertesting.com and partnered with front-end, back-end and native developers. We were able to implement clearing of search history, auto-suggest/auto-complete functionality, and categorizing search results by type and a better redirect pattern for dead search. The release of the search changes improved checkout conversion from <1% to about 2.4%.
